Peggy Crist, EA, FCA, MAAA
Peggy is a native and lifelong Oregonian, with the exception of brief sojourn to Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Rice University, double-majoring in Mathematics and Economics. She has worked with defined contribution and defined benefit plans for nearly thirty years, most recently focusing on funding, accounting, and derisking strategies for larger frozen defined benefit plans. Peggy also has considerable experience with plan terminations. While it was the analytic nature of the work that originally attracted her to the actuarial field, the most enjoyable moments over the years all revolve around the people she has supported – helping make complex pension concepts accessible to both plan sponsors and participants and empowering them to make important decisions about their pension plan.
Peggy has recently had the chance to visit Mexico and Chile, which has revived her interest in studying Spanish in her free time. She is also a yoga enthusiast and tries to squeeze in crabbing trips to the Oregon coast with her family whenever possible.
