Access Social Security Statements Online

Did you know you can view your Social Security Statement online? In the past, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sent annual paper statements to update participants on their earnings record and estimated benefits. However, in an effort to reduce costs, now only certain individuals over age 60 receive paper statements. To access or sign up online you can visit the SSA website.

While some experts debate the long-term solvency of the SSA, the program will continue to run, and thus should be factored into your retirement planning. At IAI, we would suggest you sign up for your online statements and continue to monitor your benefits over the years. If you wanted to take things one step further, I would also suggest checking out our online retirement calculator.
